Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has asked youths in the constituency to form groups so as to increase their chances of getting the Uwezo Fund.
Speaking to residents of Nembu Ward in Gatundu South on Sunday, Kuria said that youths are likely to get the funds if they are in groups.
He said that constituency will start issuing Uwezo Funds to applicants in July.
The MP said that several applicants have applied for the fund and that the committee will soon select the suitable applicants.
Kuria said that selection of successful applicants is transparent and is based on certain conditions as provided by the Uwezo Fund Board.
“I encourage youths, women and persons living with disabilities to form groups to increase their chances of getting the funds,” he said.
Kuria said that some beneficiaries of the fund within Gatundu are doing well. He encouraged the marginalised groups to apply for the Biashara Fund.
He said that the Biashara Fund is an initiative of governor William Kabogo and that youths should apply for the funds.
Kuria at the same time said that a programme has been started where youths with great entrepreneurial ideas will be funded.
“We intend to sponsor and support youths who have good entrepreneurial ideas so that they can actualise their business dreams,” he said.
Kuria said that Sh100,000 will be given to youths who demonstrate good entrepreneurship ideas. He said that the programme will start in July this year.
