Construction works at Nyamira that had stalled due to alleged embezzlement of funds will be completed after Gesima MCA donated 40 bags of cement and 30 iron sheets on Friday.
This comes a moment after area parents threatened to sue Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire for allegedly jeopardising construction of Nyamotenenio ECDE class on the basis that he was not voted overwhelmingly by area residents.
But on Saturday, Mr Atuti Ken of Gesima ward told HiviSasa.com that the construction had stalled, making many pupils to walk long distances to for the purpose of getting an ECDE facility.
“The nearest ECDE class is at Ritibo primary which is a couple of miles from here. The distance is far and that is why I chip in to salvage the situation. I here there is an intrigue between the local community and the area MP but I don’t want to drag myself to the squabbles,” he said.
He urged contractors to finish in time besides calling for thorough auditing to ascertain the allegations surrounding the construction of the classroom.
“It doesn’t really mean that I don’t want to involve myself but it is important for auditing to be done to clarify controversial issues surrounding the construction,” he said.
However, Mr Bosire's personal assistant Justus Omiti termed the allegations by area parents ‘uncivilised and fictitious’ and defended the area MP by saying the construction was catered for in the financial year 2015/16.
