Speaking on Sunday during the donation of the five tanks that are worth Sh700,000, Ken Atuti asked locals to use the water only during dry spells when water is scarce in the region.

He further promised to donate similar tanks to other surrounding dispensaries such as Mosobeti, Gesima and Emenyenche to save the same purpose.

“These water tanks are very essential at this time. Because we do not have tapped water, it will be important that we use the water during dry spells only. That is the only time we will see the purpose of these tanks,” he said.

“I want to reiterate that they are not for patients and dispensary workers but for the whole community. I will soon deliver similar tanks to all dispensaries in my ward besides planning to dig boreholes,” he said.

The URP MCA asked the county government of Nyamira to consider deploying more health workers to the dispensaries, since most of them are said to be operating with only one health worker.

“I would like to ask the county government to consider sending more health workers to our dispensaries. The ongoing recruitment of nurses should first benefit dispensaries because they are in dire need of the human force,” he said.
