Three students from Gesima ward currently undertaking their studies at Mwongori high school have a reason to smile after area MCA offered to pay their school fees till they finish secondary school.

Pius Gwaro, Elkana Momanyi and Quinter Abuga, who are in form one, recorded impressive performance in their second term results despite reporting to school late due to lack of school fees.

On Tuesday, ward representative Ken Atuti said he will be supporting the students till they complete their high school.

“I had a chance to look at the results of the three students and I was very impressed. It is quite encouraging to top respective classes with over 900 marks yet they had their own difficulties. I wish to challenge them to continue working extra hard,” he said.

Mr Atuti further revealed that he was in the final stages to take the three to his home so that they could have a conducive learning environment during the holidays in which they will only be visiting their homes occasionally.

“I am in discussion with their parents and guardians so that they can allow them to stay in my house during holidays and only visit their families at particular time,” he added.

The annual fees at Mwongori high school for each student is Sh31,000.
