Gilgil Ward MCA, Jane Wangui Ngugi has expressed concern over public land grabbing by powerful politicians .
Speaking today at Gilgil Town, Gilgil constituency, Nakuru County during responding residents' queries over public grabbing by influential personalities, Ngugi admitted that land grabbing in the constituency was at alarming rate.
“Every where you go in this ward , there are complaints of public land grabbing by influential politicians,”said Ngugi.
She added that the powerful individuals had infiltrated every section of public by grabbing it .
“Some individuals have grabbed a public land in Ngomongo Trading Center and major road reserves," said Ngugi .
She also said other public land and utilities are neither spared .
“Some individuals have allotment letters claiming to have the ownership of the only library in Gilgil,"said Ngugi .
She expressed deep concern over the grabbing of the library ,saying the vice will derive many students chance to acquire knowledge.
The assembly leader vowed to stem the vice and take legal action against those behind the vice .
“We will not allow greedy individuals to exploit residents, we will fight tooth and nail to restore public confidence by stemming land grabbing schemes," said Ngugi.
She further urged those with land plots with triple title deeds to report the matter to deputy county commissioner’s office for help.
