Rev Father George Okoth of Eldoret Catholic Diocese has asked parents, teachers and the government to give candidates ample time as they sit for their final exams. Speaking during a prayer meeting for Form Four and Standard Eight candidates at the Emmaculate School in Eldoret town, Father Okoth said the government should act fast and resolve the issues surrounding the looming teachers’ strike to ensure that the candidates are not inconvenienced when the exams start. He also asked the parents to assist the candidates achieve the best by offering them all the necessary help they may require during the exam period. “I would like to advise the parents that this is not the time to quarrel with their children and asking them so many things. This is the time to give them the support and encouragement that they need,” Okoth said. School Principal Mike Bora said that they have been working as a team to ensure that the student are disciplined and well prepared for the forthcoming exams.
