Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi wants stern action to be taken against politicians and individuals making inflammatory statements and remarks.

Wamatangi said that 'careless' talk among some politicians could cause disunity among Kenyans.

Addressing journalists on Saturday in Kiambu Town, Wamatangi asked relevant government agencies to deal with politicians who incite Kenyans.

“Government agencies including the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) must take action against hate mongers,” he said.

Wamatangi said that NCIC and other agencies must track down politicians and individuals who make inflammatory statements.

Wamatangi said that individuals who engage in hate mongering should be dealt with as provided for by the law.

The senator said that no individual or group is powerful than the law adding that it is time for politicians to measure what they say and how they say it.

The Kiambu senator said that cohesion and integration among Kenyans would not be realised if hate mongers are not dealt with accordingly.

Wamatangi also asked Kenyans to shun leaders whose agenda is to cause disunity.

He said that the country will not achieve its development goals if leaders are keen to divide Kenyans.
