Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said that his government is committed to fight unemployment among the youths.
He says that this is by allocating them 30% of government tenders.
Speaking in Waseges Ward in Subukia constituency on Friday, the governor said young people have the opportunity to develop themselves and should not complain that they are not given a chance to benefit from government tenders.
“My government has made it clear that 30% of all tenders should be reserved for youth, women and people with disabilities. Now the ball is on your side. Apply for these tenders,” Mbugua said.
Mbugua, who was presiding over opening of projects funded by the county government, added that he is using his first term in office to lay a firm foundation for good development in the future.
“We are not discriminating against any area in projects' implementation. We are committed to increase funding to people-oriented development projects and I am calling on all residents in this county to work with my government in order to achieve the goals of development,” the governor said.
The governor was accompanied by Subukia MP Nelson Gaichuhie and ward MCA
