Nakuru County governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Tuesday condemned the torching of Menengai West MCA Lucy Kihumba's property estimated at Sh50 million by unknown arsonists.

Speaking at the MCAs home in Ol-Rongai when he went to show solidarity with the family, Mbugua termed the action as an evil deed, adding that the perpetrators must be arrested and punished according to the law. 

"What I have seen here did not happen by accident. It was a well planned and deliberate situation. All must be done to have these evil people brought to book," he said. 

Mbugua also called for speedy investigations into the 3am incident. 

He assured the family of the county government’s support as they rebuild their lives.
