Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua has reassured Nakuru residents of his commitment in ensuring a better and more vibrant economy.
Speaking in Mau Narok ward at the New Testament Church of God where he attended a church service on Sunday, the governor challenged anybody with 'negative ideas' on his development agenda to come out and help rectify the problems.
“I think I have done my best in ensuring Nakuru becomes a business hub in the region ever since I ascended to the reign of power,” he said, adding that he had no time for unnecessary political bickering.
He downplayed recent media reports that there were differences among some of his senior officers saying that everything was well.
“I want to assure that Nakuru County stands firm, our county is strong and respected not only in the country but in the East African region as a whole,” Mbugua noted.
He further emphasised on the importance of knowing God, saying that a society that believes in the Almighty has always made significant strides to the right direction.
The governor called on religious leaders to help bring sanity, reconciliation and cohesion among the different parts of the county arguing that the bad things being associated with the youth across the country needed immediate intervention.
“It’s our responsibility to mentor, nurture and inject good morals in our young people because they are the leaders of tomorrow, let’s not allow them learn on their own because they are seriously going astray,” he advised.
The governor was accompanied by other senior county officials and local leaders where they held a funds drive for the construction of a new church.
