Two watchmen and a man were arraigned before a Nakuru court on Tuesday over alleged theft of lorry parts.
Michael Olal, Leonard Kipkemoi and Daniel Kiplagat were accused of allegedly stealing parts of Mercedes lorry worth Sh1.4 million, property of Mombasa Maize Millers on the night of October 20, 2015 at Mombasa Maize Millers firm in Nakuru.
Olal and Kipkemoi faced an alternative account of failing to prevent the felony while they were a security guards at the firm.
Kiplagat told the court that he was the one who went to the police to report the matter only be arrested and charged with theft.
“I went to the police station immediately we realised that the car parts were missing, I do not know who took so I went to the police to record a statement but I was arrested,” he said.
Appearing before senior principle magistrate Liz Gicheha, they pleaded not guilty and were released on a Sh500,000 surety bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.
Kipkemoi pleaded that the court reduced the cash bail that was given to him since he had a family that can not raise the amount.
The case will be heard on December 3.
In the same court a man alleged to have burned a house in Kiumboria was released on sh20,000 cash bail.
Moses Ndungu was accused of setting a housing belonging to Samuel Nyaga on fire on October 25,2015.
He denied the charges and his case will be heard on December 9.
