Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has appealed to residents to volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of suspected members of outlawed criminal gangs allegedly operating in some parts of the county.
Speaking during a meeting with security officials at Huruma grounds in Eldoret on Wednesday, Hassan said that the government will not tolerate criminal gangs.
The commissioner said that they need information on the suspected groups for them to make the arrests.
He said the public could be having information that could aid the police in hunting the criminals.
“We need information on the whereabouts of the suspected outlawed criminal gangs who have been spotted in some estates. Residents will have to partner with the police to secure the county," said Hassan.
He said the police will step up their man hunt for the suspected criminals.
“We are not going to sit down until when we crash the suspected criminal gangs,” he said.
Hassan directed county OCPDs, OCSs and Inspectors, Commanders and Chiefs to ensure their respective areas are safe from criminals.
The commissioner directed chiefs to monitor their localities and update police officers on suspected criminals.
Hassan said the government will employ every mechanism to crash criminal elements in the county.
