People living with disabilities from Gucha on Thursday received free medical assessment to establish their special needs.
The exercise that was sponsored by Kisii County government saw scores of people with disabilities converges at Ogembo Sub-County hospital to be assessed by specialised doctors.
The exercise has been carried out in other sub-counties, as the county government prepares to issue the affected residents with equipment which will aid them to live better lives on December 3, when the world celebrates disability day.
Speaking during the occasion, nominated MCA Ms Phelista Ochako said they have been going around the county assessing and registering all persons affected so they can get help from the county government.
She said efforts to bring all the people with disabilities for the assessment has been a challenge as many could not walk or afford to hire transport to the assessment venues.
The MCA, who is among the physically challenged, said they are working out modalities in order to reach all individuals living with physical or mental challenges at their areas of residence.
