Huruma Ward Representative Peter Chomba has warned youths in the area against being lured by selfish people to join criminal gangs.
Speaking at Huruma grounds on Wednesday, Mr Chomba said that some selfish people are luring youths into crime.
The ward representative told youths to keep off crime if they want their lives to be good adding that crime rates in the area had gone up in the past two months.
“I am appealing to Huruma youths to keep off people who might want to lure them into criminal activities,” he said.
The MCA said that several residents have complained over rise crime cases and urged the police to step up the fight and put an end to crime.
Chomba said that police are mandated to guarantee security of citizens.
“Security agencies and the police should work round the clock to fight criminal elements from this area,” he said.
He urged residents to work with the police to curb crime in the area adding that the police should conduct 24 hour patrols to deal with criminals.
