A man was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nakuru court for stealing a blow dryer from a salon.

Peter Nyongesa was accused of allegedly stealing the machine worth Sh6,000 from a salon belonging to Margret Mwihaki on August 3, at Nakuru teachers trading centre.

According to the prosecution, Nyongesa stormed into the Salon, grabbed the blow dryer and run away.

The owner raised alarm after which the members of the public pursued him and recovered the machine. He was apprehended and taken to the Teachers Police Post.

Appearing before Senior Principle Magistrate Liz Gicheha, Nyongesa pleaded guilty and the begged the court for lenience.

"I beg the court to forgive me, I never meant to steal from her," he said.

State prosecutor, Hillary Songoyo told the court to treat him as a first offender saying he has no previous records.

The court ordered that a report from a probation officer be availed in order to help the court in making its decision.

The case will be mentioned on August 14.
