Nominated MP Oburu Oginga on Tuesday insisted that he can only offer to testify for Deputy President William Ruto at the ICC if he is requested to do so.
Oburu who addressed a Cord rally at Kamukunji grounds in Kibera on Tuesday said he and the coalition’s principal Raila Odinga cannot force themselves into giving testimonies in favour of Ruto at the Hague-based court.
"I cannot go to The Hague before Ruto himself tells me that he wants my assistance. That is what I said before, that even Raila should only help out when requested by the person in need who in this case is Ruto," said Oburu.
He also criticised the Jubilee leaders for what he termed as conducting hypocritical prayer rallies which according to him are not meant to save Ruto and his co-accused Joshua Sang from the ICC.
"The prayer rallies are conducted by leaders who only want to see Ruto jailed. Abusing the judges at the ICC by Jubilee leaders can put the Deputy President in great danger," opined the older Odinga.
