Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has told off critics engaging in empty rhetoric to instead focus on improving the lives of residents.
Speaking in his office on Saturday after hosting Chinese investors, Mbugua said he will not waste time with leaders who engage in politicking but will seek to improve the lives of county residents.
In what is seen as a direct attack on Nakuru East MP David Gikaria, the governor said it was unfortunate for leaders to continue politicking instead of promoting development.
“It is unfortunate that some leaders spend a lot of time politicking and insulting others instead of working for the people. I will not waste time with such leaders as my duty is to serve the county residents,” Mbugua said.
He advised Nakuru residents to reject leaders who have nothing to offer to them in the next general election saying that it is the only way that the county will achieve development.
Gikaria had led residents on Wednesday last week to protest over what he termed as poor leadership exhibited by the county government.
