Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa has asked opposition leaders to stop politicising development projects being undertaken by the Jubilee government.
Addressing journalists in Kikuyu Town on Thursday, Ichungwa claimed that the opposition is plotting to destabilise the government on its development quest.
He claimed that some opposition leaders are keen to cause rifts in the Jubilee government by using corruption scandals to force some leaders out of government.
“We have noted the malicious plans by some opposition leaders who are keen to derail government development,” he said.
Ichungwa said that calls to have Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru Kicked out of office over alleged corruption are politicised.
The Kikuyu MP alleged that some opposition leaders are behind the calls to have Waiguru sacked.
He claimed that opposition leaders are threatened by the work that the Devolution Ministry has done in Kibera and other slums in the country.
Ichungwa said that as Jubilee leaders, they will stand with Waiguru.
He said that the Devolution CS is among the best performing and will not allow mere politics to send her out.
The Kikuyu MP at the same time asked opposition leaders to give the Jubilee government time to work.
He said that the opposition has embarked on early campaigns with the aim of distracting the government.
The MP urged the opposition to focus on their role as the watchdog and allow the government to work.
