Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wa has told Cord coalition to stop politicising the government's developments and instead focus on issues that will move the country forward.
Speaking to Kikuyu youths on Wednesday at Kiamumbi Church in Kikuyu where he attended a youth leadership forum aimed at educating youth on good leadership, Ichung'wa said Cord leaders were looking for every reason to criticise the Jubilee government.
He said that the sugar deal should not have been politicised but Cord's aim was to condemn all the developments by the government
Ichung'wa said that such leaders are not good role models to youths as they do not correct but instead find space to criticise.
He urged the youths in the area to adopt good leadership skills that will help the nation in good governance and moving forward rather than dragging the nation behind.
He said that Cord leaders should steer development by correcting the government rather than criticising it all the time.
The MP claimed the opposition was busy dragging the country behind with politics whereas the government is busy working for the people of Kenya.
"Ever since the Jubilee government took power,the opposition has not stopped campaigning for the next general elections. They forget that people will judge them with what they have done and all they do is host rallies all over criticising the government,” said Ichung'wa.
He added: “As the government, we are focused on working and we are sure that at the end of the tunnel, the Kenyan people will surely reward us with another term in power."
