National IDP Network spokesman Kefa Magenyi now wants the ongoing prayer rallies for Deputy President William Ruto and radio journalist Joshua arap Sang to be halted.

Magenyi  pointed out that the prayer rallies were trailing on a dangerous path claiming the utterances that were being made in the prayers were detrimental to peace.

“None of the prayers is even touching on the victims and their plight. They are just a political gimmick and a move for many to achieve political mileage,” he quipped

Speaking to the press at Cathay hotel in Nakuru on Monday, Magenyi said that politicians could potentially use the platform to incite people to violence.

“These are political rallies disguised as prayers and all the tribal clashes started on this route,” he warned.

On the issue of 'fake' witnesses, the National IDP Network spokesman says there are politicians who are responsible for the procurement of 'coached' witnesses to the Hague.

“There is no human rights organisation that made or fixed witnesses. All the survivors and victims were genuine representative of others who were in the similar position. It is the politicians who made fake witnesses,” he said.

Magenyi pointed out that Sh30 billion had been set aside for the resettlement of IDPs.

“We intend to harmonise the registers that have been given out at different areas. We found out that the registers are the same but handed over to different individuals,” he added

He also said a plan was underway to launch a biometric registration for all IDPs in the country
