Nakuru residents have been urged to be affable and prioritise serving others for a peaceful society.
In a press briefing in Nakuru town on Monday, a delegation of pastors and evangelists from the Light House Turbanacle Norway noted that Kenya was a peaceful country but what was being witnessed in some parts was as a result of individualism, tribalism and leaders who are out to fulfill their personal selfish desires.
Speaking on behalf of the 15 member delegation, Pastor Kathe Anbog noted that the country needed redemption, arguing that some things being witnessed were preventable.
“Issues to do with spiritual redemption that makes Kenya lag behind development wise are rape, mob justice, worshiping idols and killing for political reasons,” he said.
Pastor Anbog cited the imbalance in society as a recipe of oppression, lack of accountability and improper distribution of resources, arguing that they make selected individuals enjoy their lives to the fullest at the expense of others.
“Look at the society as a whole, the difference between the rich and the poor is so evident that it has led to a very poor perception at the back of minds of the children being brought up,” the pastor noted.
He further revealed that the mission was in the process of holding a major 1 week crusade in the country to pray for peaceful co-existence ahead of 2017 polls.
The spiritual leaders are in the country to launch a water and irrigation in arid and semi-arid parts of the country to help foster development and working together for a similar purpose.
