During an interview in his office early Monday, Mosumari said since the adoption of the community policing by residents, calm has been restored in the region in the recent past.

He added that currently, there is a friendly and close cooperation between the residents and the police department, which has helped boost security, making the place safer and also easy for the police to carry out normal patrols.

“The area was experiencing a total misconduct and a far distance between the authority and the community, which has now changed and we can interact easily and know what is going on in the area,” said Mosumari.

He added that community policing had also helped greatly to round up law breakers and pick them out from the peace loving citizens.

“The area residents have been able to help our officers by sharing with them credible information pertaining to any suspicious looking people amongst them. The officers have in turn been able to act swiftly by responding promptly and attending to the residents in good time,” said Mosumari
