Nyamira residents have been advice to join hands with investors to boost agriculture sector and foster development.
According to Nyamira County Commissioner Josephine Onunga, the only way the county can develop and achieve it goals is by working with investors who have chosen to work with the county.
Onunga who was addressing farmers and investors at Rigoma Ward in Nyamira County during World Food Day celebrations added that partnership in development can make the country improve in the agriculture sector.
“We need to partner and come together so that we can improve agriculture which is the backbone of this county and the nation in large,” she said.
In addition, he cautioned residents against idling and waiting for government aid saying such residents do not have room in Nyamira County unless they change their altitude.
"You are supposed to take part in development of this county so that we can improve our agriculture sector that can increase our income," said the county commissioner.
She advised the youth to come out and take advantage projects established by the National Government including Uwezo Fund to enable them creat their own jobs.
“This is not the time for the youth to complain, but its time for them to take advantage of these projects so that they can develop and empower themselves,” Onunga added.
