Parents and administrators of two institutions from Gesima ward in Nyamira have a reason to smile after their schools were given land title deeds after many years of trying.
The two institutions, Karantini secondary and primary school, received the two title deeds from area MCA on Sunday who had been pursuing the matter for months now.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com on Sunday, principal James Nyaribo lauded area MCA Ken Atuti for his dedicated campaigns to ensure all the institutions from the region received land title deeds.
“This is a massive opportunity for us and I think this is the right way to go. Our MCA has put special focus on ensuring all institutions from the region have title deeds. This is the only way to lock out land grabbers who are always on the move to get a share,” he said.
His primary school counterpart John Nyang’au urged the government to expedite the process of issuing land title deeds to all institutions since the Lands registry across the country is said to have been subjecting institution heads to bureaucracy.
“It’s been a tough war for us and I want to give special thanks to our MCA for his good job. However, I would like to urge our government to be in good communication with the Lands registry at the county level to reduce the bureaucracy that we experience everything,” he said.
