A section of Jubilee MPs in Nakuru have warned National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale against contradicting government decisions on security matters.

The legislators accused Duale of failing to consult MPs affiliated to the Jubilee coalition when making comments on decisions made by the government.

Led by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, the lawmakers want Duale to stop criticising decisions being made by government agencies since he is part of the regime.

“We have noted with major concern that the leader of majority in the National Assembly has no respect for government decisions touching on security,” said Ngunjiri.

The legislators indicated that they will not allow the Dujis MP to continue contradicting government decisions.

Duale had criticised the decision by the Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to impose a curfew on Lamu County. The curfew was in a bid to address insecurity concerns in the area.

He claimed that the curfew was targeting Muslims who are currently observing the holy month of Ramadhan.

The curfew has since been relaxed to accommodate the Ramadhan calendar.
