Kiambu County Women Representative Annah Nyokabi has lauded Juja chief Miss Sarah Nduta for her heroic fight against illicit brews and hard drugs in the area.
Speaking on Wednesday in Juja Town, Nyokabi noted that good community policing and the Nyumba Kumi Initiative had helped in reducing sale and consumption of drugs in the location.
"I would like to thank our chief, her two assistants for the good work they are doing. They have managed to nab bhang, litres of chang'aa and chang'aa brewers," said Nyokabi.
She added that community policing had started bearing fruits in the area and urged all residents to come out and support the chief's efforts.
"Residents of Juja have been coming out to give information that enables the chief and the police to maintain law and order. We really appreciate their tip offs. We encourage them to continue providing the police with such information," she added.
The women representative said they have been interacting with the local administrators in the area and she is aware of the affected areas which need help from her.
She said the chief has had a tough time raiding the brewing dens day and night and she needs to be commended.
