Kiambu county government has commenced the construction of Juja sub-county government offices in a move to ease the access to the government services by the public.
The county government is set to construct all the departmental offices in the area to ensure every office is available in Juja.
According to Kiambu county Chief of Staff Eng. Sammy Onyango, the government has embarked on constructing the offices on the sewerage area used by the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) as the institution I shifting from the area due to public health concerns.
Speaking in Juja on Monday, Mr. Onyango said that the 10 acre piece of land will have all the sub-county offices s they have been missing since the adoption of devolution thus making the revenue collection among other services hard to initiate.
The county government of Kiambu has also offered to build several administration police officers’ residential houses including the offices of the OCPD, DAPC and DCC.
Juja constituency was left without any government office after the split of the larger Juja constituency thus residents have been forced to seek for services from Thika and Ruiru sub-county headquarters.
The area MP Francis Munyua has been decrying to both National and County governments to fast-track the construction of the offices saying that the public blame him for all the failures either from National or county levels as he is the only government officer in the public domain.
The resident of the area have lauded the county government for the construction as they have gotten job opportunities on the site.
