Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo is set to relocate the county offices to Kiambu which is the gazetted headquarters in two weeks time. Kabogo announced this on Wednesday during his state of the county address in a special parliamentary sitting.
"The department of public administration has set up a task force to ensure the completion of the county offices with a view to permanently relocate to Kiambu Sub County which is the gazetted county headquarters", said Kabogo.
The governor also noted that completion of the works, which are at an advanced stage, indicates the shift will take place in the early part of the next fiscal year.
There is no doubt that the county government is on the right track. A lot has been achieved in these last two years and I look forward to the continued collaboration of the two arms of government as we move to meet our development agenda as promised to our people,” he said.
The decision to relocate had earlier met a stiff opposition from a section of Kiambu MPs and senators including senator Paul Wamatangi.
