Masinga's Kanyonyoni Location Chief Martha Kasoki has called on all members of the public to work with the local administration to ensure they end insecurity in the area.
The chief says that the insecurity cases can only be fought through collaboration as criminals live among the public. She said that residents should identify criminals without fear of intimidation to ensure they maintain their safety.
She added that there is need to hold security meetings regularly to sensitise residents on the security strategies which, according to her, can help solve the problem.
Speaking during a security meeting in the area on Monday, the administrator said that the residents have been treating the local administrators with fear such that they cannot offer any security intelligence to them.
"We have been blaming the police for reluctance but we don't give them tip-offs whenever there is a planned criminal act. We need to work together to avert this insecurity menace from this area and ensure the safety of each member of the public is guaranteed," she said.
The chief was accompanied by two of her assistants and other local leaders who vowed to support her in the fight against insecurity in the area.
The members of public have also vowed to engage in the fight for their safety.
