Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has asked Machakos residents to register as voters in large numbers.
Speaking at Machakos town on Monday, Mbui said that residents have an opportunity to register as voters if they want to take part in the 2017 general elections.
The Wiper Secretary General said that it is the constitutional right of every citizen who has reached the eligible age to register as a voter.
“I want to urge Machakos people to come out and register as voters and also attend voter education forums being conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC),” said Mbui.
The MP observed that many residents across Machakos and the entire Ukambani region have little knowledge about the electoral process.
He appealed to the IEBC to conduct more forums that will equip residents with electoral knowledge.
Mbui further urged Kenyans to sign up as members of Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party.
He said that Wiper Party has a national outlook and attracts the interests of all Kenyans.
Mbui said that the party is focused to unite and bring all Kenyans together through its various development ideologies.
