A Kenya Defence Force officer was on Monday arraigned before a Nakuru court for allegedly raping a university student.
Coprol Evans Ochieng Akello was charged with raping a 22 year old university student on October 22 at Lanet area within Nakuru County.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Liz Gicheha, Ochieng pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of Sh200,000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.
Ochieng, who is based at Lanet barracks, was arrested on Thursday night last week for allegedly raping a student from Maseno University.
Ochieng’s lawyer Steve Kabita urged the court to give his client favourable bond terms.
He further urged the court to order the prosecution to give him all the documents that the prosecution will use against his client.
The case will be heard on December 10.
