Former Justice Minister Martha Karua has been told to keep off the name of Deputy President William Ruto over the International Criminal Court case.
Nyanza regional coordinator, United Republican Party Zuberi Liete said Karua should leave Ruto alone and instead follow up with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who linked her to the case facing the DP.
Mr Liete said dragging Ruto into the matter is not fair and told the former Gichugu MP to square out her issues with the person who invoked her name.
“I want to appeal to my sister to leave the name of DP Ruto out of this, let her resolve the matter with Kuria,” he said on Wednesday as he addressed a press conference in Kisumu.
He said Karua should absolve herself from the claims instead of finding excuses noting that Kuria is not the mouth piece of DP Ruto.
He said Ruto should be left alone to fight his case at The Hague-based court.
“Ruto needs prayers now to be able to defeat the cases at the ICC not name calling," Mr Liete added.
He commended MP Kuria for coming out boldly to state what happened in 2007 and called on Kenyans to continue praying for the DP.
