Kenya National libraries chairperson Sam Nyangeso has been cautioned against lecturing area politicians on how to run the county affairs.
This comes barely a week after the library head was quoted accusing the James Ongwae led government of failing to achieve development goals for the sake of county residents.
Majority leader Protus Moindi on Wednesday urged the former township mayor to desist from meddling in the affairs of the county since he is a public servant of the national government who is not allowed to participate in politics.
He accused the former township leader of being used by Jubilee government to discredit the ODM-led devolved government despite the numerous achievements they have made in the last two years.
“We have made tremendous steps in various sectors among them health, education, agriculture and infrastructure. Someone who has been sent by the national government to discredit us can never be allowed to achieve his course. He must keep off politics because he is a civil servant,” he said.
Mr Moindi challenged the library head to quit his current sit and contest in an election if he wished to be part of the county leadership.
“These seats are open to everyone and he has a chance to contest but we cannot allow him to fight us while being a government official,” he added.
Efforts to reach the library head were futile since he could neither respond to text messages nor receive our calls.
