Kisumu Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth has asked political leaders to spread and keep peace in the country.
Archbishop Okoth urged political leaders to give peace a chance despite their different political opinions and ideologies.
"I appeal that we give peace a chance in the country. Kenya is one country, nation we are one people,"
He said that leaders should accept multi party democracy adding that opposition leaders are also part of the government. The archbishop said that there should be no political enemies when among leaders for the prosperity of the nation.
Archbishop Okoth said the Kisumu archdiocese has brought transformation in the education, health care sector and social economic empowerment.
"Your excellency today as we celebrate this occasion we thank God for the 416 primary schools, 107 secondary schools, 7 colleges, 25 health and 6 hospitals in Kisumu Catholic Diocese," said archbishop Okoth.
Speaking at Uzima University College in Kisumu County on Monday afternoon during Silver Jubilee celebrations, the archbishop said that Sh500 million was used in the construction of Uzima University which offer medical courses.
He urged that Uzima University College should have enough facilities and equipment to study and carryout research on diseases such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, malaria and illness affecting children.
