Wanango says that the highway has been a major hot-spot for deaths due to lack of bumps.

“The highway has become a hotbed of accidents as there are no speed bumps,” said Wanango.

He claimed that at least three passengers lose their lives weekly.

“We have two passengers in the mortuary after being knocked down by speeding vehicles and yesterday a man was seriously injured and he is at ICU, bringing the number of passengers involved in accidents to three in a span of one week,” said Wanango.

Speaking at Kayole Estate, Naivasha Sub-County along Nairobi-Nakuru Highway where a man was knocked down by a car, Wanango urged KENHA to erect speed bumps to end suffering of passengers using the busy road.

“The KENHA should heed the residents cry and erect speed bumps failure to which we will erect our own speed bumps,” said Wanango adding “we will not watch our residents perish due to negligence of KENHA.”

The ward leader also urged the government to enhance security in Kayole after a series of accidents where a watchman was brutally murdered while guarding a supermarket in the area.

“The state of insecurity in Kayole has gone beyond measures and the government should beef the security” said Wanango .

He called on the residents to enhance Nyumba Kumi in a bid to weed out criminals among them.
