Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has challenged both the ruling and opposition leaders to tone down their political rhetoric surrounding the ICC debate.
Speaking during a rally at Mazembe grounds in Rhonda Nakuru on Sunday, Mudavadi appealed to his fellow leaders to desist from making reckless utterances, saying it posed a great danger to the stability of this nation.
"I want to challenge my fellow leaders that this whole debate of who fixed who or who did what is seriously aggravating the peace efforts we have made as a nation. It is therefore prudent if we engaged citizens on issues that can bring them together and not those that will sow discord among them," he stated.
The former deputy prime minister further urged both sets of coalition to give dialogue a chance and avoid name calling, naked hostility and finger pointing, adding that such extreme positions were not good for the country.
He reiterated that he was in the race for presidency come 2017, and called upon locals to support his bid.
Mudavadi was accompanied by among others Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi and former Shinyalu legislator Justus Kizito.
On his part, Agoi called on residents to try elect Mudavadi, adding that he was the most sensible and sober leader at this time when the country was at crossroads.
