Kenya Power has been blamed for failure to relocate an electricity pole which is in the middle of the Gesero –Nyamaya Road near Suneka town, Kisii County.
Mr Hi-Yumng, a supervisor at H &Young Company who are currently expanding the road, said the post is situated in the middle of the road. He said they have raised alarm over possible loss of life if the Kenya Power doesn’t take quick action to move it.
Yumng said they have written to the company on several occasions yet up to now the company has not responded. He noted that the section where the post is located is yet to be expanded and tarmacked.
According to motorists in the area led by Mr Moturi Moranga they fear using the road since the post is now looking weak and fear it may fall any time.
Moranga said they want the company to come and relocate the post since it is located in the middle of the road.
Kenya Power business manager in Kisii region Mr Jared Begi said they are not aware of the situation but promised they will be taking necessary actions.
