Kenyans have been urged not to discriminate people with albinism and instead ensure that they are well taken care of.

Speaking on Monday in Nyamira town during a sensitisation exercise of people living with albinism, programs director of Albinism Empowerment Network Mr Timothy Aseka said that they have been receiving many cases of mistreatment of people living with albinism in the society.

"It is high time people changed their attitude towards people living with disabilities and treat them right. I am urging parents and relatives to be in the forefront in protecting them," said Asega.

Asega also said that the government is aware of the challenges people with albinism face in the society adding it is providing them with the necessities they need.

"The government has made sure that they get sunscreen lotion to protect them from sun, protective gear, capes, lip balm and much more including free medical care on eye and skin treatment in government hospitals," added Asega.
