Uasin Gishu county assembly speaker Isaac Terer has urged Kenyans to join hands and fight corruption.
Speaking Tuesday during Mashujaa Day celebrations at 64 Stadium in Eldoret, Terer said citizens should report to the respective authorities for action to be taken against corrupt public officials.
"Corruption is bleeding our country dry. It brings our economy down, we have to join efforts to fight it," he said.
The speaker said whistle blowers should not be afraid to report cases of corruption at every level, adding that they will be protected.
He further said the county is trying as much as possible to fight other challenges such as illiteracy, diseases and poverty.
"Parents should take their children to school so that they can be equipped with skills and knowledge. Youths should be involved in income generating activities to end poverty," said the county speaker.
He said devolution has eased the fight against diseases since medical facilities are easily accessed and affordable to the public.
