Kiambu County Commissioner Alex Nkoyo has urged residents to work with the police in efforts to tame crime.

Speaking at Ndumberi grounds on Tuesday, the newly posted county commissioner said that public support will help law enforcers to fight crime effectively.

He urged residents to embrace community policing and volunteer information to the police.

Nkoyo said several cases of crime are being reported in some parts of the county stating that police will step up surveillance in the said areas.

“Members of the public should support the security efforts and measures that we are putting in place in order to combat crime,” he said.

The Kiambu County Commissioner said that his administration will not tolerate criminal gangs, adding that an operation to get rid of criminal gangs across the county will be launched soon.

The commissioner appealed to leaders in the county to work with him saying that it is the only way security will realised in the county.

Nkoyo also cautioned youths in the county against taking part in crime saying that they too will not be spared.
