Juja MP Francis Munyua has asked Kiambu MCAs to push for development at the grassroots.
Speaking when he met the clergy in Juja on Wednesday, the legislator alleged that government services are not reaching the people at the grassroots.
He said that the MCAs in Kiambu have turned into politics and forgotten their task in the people representation and thus leaving some areas in darkness.
“Our MCAs should be active and push for development projects at the ward level. They should stop politicking and following the governor everywhere he goes when the public is suffering here,” he said.
Munyua called on the Kiambu government to return at least 30 per cent of what they get in Juja wards to the residents as they are the highest taxpayers in Kiambu. He said despite this, the residents have no hospital or public school especially in Witeithie and Kalimoni wards.
The MP said that devolution should be used to improve the lives of all citizens, adding that leaders have the responsibility to make sure that public resources are used to benefit the people.
He said he will lead Kiambu residents in demanding for services from their government if nothing changes by next month.
