Residents of Kiambu County have hailed the county government and the Christian Blind Mission after they conducted an eye screening exercise for cataracts in children.
Speaking in a women's meeting, Kiambu Women's development Sacco chairlady Ms Glady's Kiring'wa said the screening was beneficial to many.
She added that many parents especially those in grass root areas have a lot to appreciate for such an exercise, thanking the county's leadership headed by governor William Kabogo.
"We are very grateful to the county government for coming up with such an exercise, we urge our governor to continue with the same spirit and serve the people well," said Kiring'wa
Mr Martin Kinuthia, a resident in Ndumberi said his children were part of the exercise.
He said he was advised to ensure his children eat healthy diets to maintain good vision.
"It was a great exercise and we appreciate the fact that it was also free of charge since most of the residents here cannot afford such services," Kinuthia said.
