The Kiambu governor William Kabogo has announced plans to partner with the Kenya Revenue Authority to enhance revenue collection.
Speaking in Kiambu during a courtesy call by the KRA Central region director Wilfred Okwemba, the governor said the county was keen on raising more revenue to fund development projects.
"Kiambu County is keen on tapping on the property tax. This collaboration with KRA couldn't have come at a better time," the governor said.
KRA officials were in the county to offer recognition for best county in tax compliance and revenue collection.
The partnership comes almost a year after the Cabinet Secretary for Information Fred Matiang'i launched ‘Kiambu Digitika’ program.
The revenue collection program which was rolled out on a pilot basis last December has seen county revenue collection increase by 60 percent for the last 3 months.
