Kiambu women representative Anne Nyokabi has defended Devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru over the corruption allegations levied against her saying that it is a scheme to kick her out.
Speaking to journalists at Thika Town on Friday, the women rep defended CS Waiguru saying that those fighting her are envious of her work.
Nyokabi said that some people are afraid of Waiguru’s influence and her development record.
“It is clear that some people want Waiguru out because they fear her influence and the development she done,” she said.
The Kiambu women rep said that allegations of corruption should be treated in the right way and it is not right for the CS to be condemned.
“I know the corruption allegations against Waiguru are malicious and meant to make her look bad,” she said.
Nyokabi said that the Devolution Ministry under the leadership of Waiguru has transformed slums in the country.
She said that the slum cleaning and upgrading programme being spearheaded by the CS has improved lives.
“We will not allow a hard working CS to be tainted by mere corruption allegations,” she added.
The Kiambu women rep appealed to Waiguru to launch similar cleaning programmes in Kiambu slums.
She said that as women leaders they will rally behind CS Waiguru and fight any attempts to oust her.
