Nakuru County Speaker Susan Kihika has urged the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) leaders to take voter registration seriously to avoid being beaten by the opposition in the coming elections.
Speaking at Kagoto PCEA Church in Bahati during a fund drive to facilitate the construction of a health center, Kihika warned Jubilee supporters against being carried away the ‘Tyranny of numbers’, a phrase which she said was only relevant during the last election.
“You do not have to convince yourself on tyranny of numbers phrase while the opposition is busy rallying for their supporters’ registration,” Kihika said.
She observed that the current effort of rallying for voter registration by the opposition is an indication of tough political battle in the next general election.
Kihika urged the public to consider voting in women in the 2017 general election in a bid to bridge the third gender rule.
She indicated that women are capable of capturing more political seats with the support of the public.
