Youths from Kihingo village in Njoro District have been urged to shun drug abuse and trafficking.
Speaking on Thursday while addressing a baraza, Chief Samuel Wame noted that cases of drug abuse especially bhang among the youths in the area were on the rise.
“It is so sad that majority of our youths have turned to drug trafficking and abuse instead of engaging in activities that could uplift their lives," he said.
The chief cautioned that a stern action will be taken against those people found abusing or trafficking drugs.
“It is illegal for people to abuse and traffic drugs. Know that we are monitoring you and we will take appropriate action,” said Wame.
The chief directed other local administration officers to work together in fighting the vice.
