Kikuyu MCA has urged youths in the area to register as voters ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Speaking in a youths business forum held at Give Hope hall in Kikuyu on Friday, MCA Binary Wainaina said youth end up not voting because they wait for last minute rash to apply for voters cards.
He added that this was poor preparation that makes them not choose leaders of their choice.
Wainaina explained that some youth did not have Identification Cards hence cannot acquire voters cards, adding that youths should ensure they acquire the documents on time to be able to choose their leaders come 2017.
“Youth complain of poor leadership among leaders while most of them do not take the initiative to cast their votes,” said Wainaina.
He challenged them to choose leaders of their choice so that they could see the kind of leadership they desire to have.
The MCA urged youth to come out and ensure they acquire IDs and get voters cards in preparation to 2017 arguing that final minute preparations end up disappointing them.
The MCA also warned youths against complaining of rigging yet they do not cast their votes.
"Youth should come out in numbers to acquire voters cards and be in the front line to choose leaders come 2017. They should ensure they choose the leaders of their choice and avoid complaining of poor leadership yet they do not vote," said Wainaina.
