A pastor was on Wednesday arraigned in a Kikuyu court for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl in his church office on July 25.

Daniel Ngiri, a pastor at Injili Iendelee Church at Ondiri in Kikuyu pleaded innocent before Chief Magistrate James Ogweno.

Hellen Kasiba who is a church member told the court that on the mentioned date at around 5pm, she had come from work and as her normal routine, she passed through church to pray before going home. She said says that she heard a child screaming in the pastor's office.

She told the court that the pastor took a while before opening the door when she saw the child crying in pain. She says the girl revealed she had been defiled after which she took her to hospital.

"I immediately rushed to Kikuyu police station where I reported the matter and the girl was taken to Kikuyu Hospital," she said.

Ngiri denied the charges saying the devil was trying to destroy his good work.

"In my ministry, I help the poor through educating them, clothing them and feeding them. I can never do such a thing and people know that," he said.
