Nakuru Divisional Police Commander Bernard Kioko has said that a major security swoop will be conducted in Kaloleni, Kivumbini and Flamingo estates.
This, he said, is to flush out suspected armed gunmen.
Speaking on Wednesday in Nakuru Town, Kioko said that criminal gangs will not be given room to cause havoc in the town.
The commander said that police are in Nakuru are determined to flush out criminal elements. He indicated that police will be conducting patrols in areas perceived to be criminal hideouts.
“As police officers, we are not going to negotiate with armed robbers. Everything is in place to flush them out,” he said.
Kioko at the same time warned people who could be helping criminals to hide saying that they tool will be dealt with.
The divisional police commander said they are working on information that will see the criminal cartels nailed.
“Police are working around the clock to make Nakuru town and its environs safe and anyone who thinks that he or she can cause trouble is in for a rude shock,” he warned.
Early Wednesday morning, police in Nakuru gunned down four armed robbers at Flamingo estate and recovered several rounds of ammunition.
Allegedly, the gunmen were on the police watch list for a long time.
Police are now appealing for information from the public on the whereabouts of gunmen who escaped the fierce gun battle.
