Following a burglary act witnessed over the weekend at the ministry of lands and urban planning offices in Kisii County, Moses Onderi, the CeC has appealed to security agents to boost surveillance.
Onderi, while addressing the press on Monday in his office expressed fear after the attack, the second in less than two months, saying that both the public and security personnel should join hands to counter the high rate of crime, which is becoming routine.
According to the CeC, the offices were broken into and some of the electronic equipment like computers stolen, further saying files in the ministry were not affected since majority of them were in a separate office.
He also confirmed that the affected ministry will be closed for an un-specified period of time in order to re-look and re-organise some misplaced files, and called for patience from the public who may be affected and whose respective emergency cases will be put to halt.
Onderi advised residents to look for legally acceptable avenues to get their daily income, instead of taking a shortcuts.
